Bank of Africa Tanzania has upgraded the software running on its ATMs to give customers easier access to a range of services.

The bank has installed Monedia technology on all the ATMs in its branch network, which has improved the speed of the machines, as well as made them easier to use, the Daily News reports.

Head of Information and Communication Technology at the bank Willington Munyaga explained the move is part of the company's efforts to provide an "exceptional client experience".

"It was important for us to deliver more features at the ATM in as simple a manner as possible," he said, adding research by the bank shows the change has been welcomed by customers, as they can now take advantage of interbank transfers, request cheque books and send money to a mobile phone without needing to speak to branch staff.

The bank currently operates 16 branches across seven regions in Tanzania and intends to increase its presence in future. Its major shareholder, Bank of Africa Group, operates in 14 countries across Africa.ADNFCR-2976-ID-801437313-ADNFCR
