The Regulatory Context for Responsible Investing in South Africa

The purpose of this briefing paper is to interrogate, on a high-level basis, whether the current legal and self-regulatory framework provides the clarity and support required to enable sustainable investment by institutional investors in South Africa, and to encourage debate around how such investment can be further stimulated, if at all, from a regulatory perspective.
