African Development Bank Group Annual Report 2024

In 2024, the AfDB advanced financial innovation with a pioneering USD 750 million sustainable hybrid capital instrument, helping to establish a framework for utilizing IMF Special Drawing Rights as hybrid capital. It raised its general callable capital to USD 318 billion. AfDB also allocated USD 322 million through its Climate Action Window and closed the year with a record UA 8.47 billion in financing, including UA 1.28 billion for women-led businesses via AFAWA.
