An overview of old-age provision in Zambia

This report provides an overview of old-age provision under the Zambian pensions and social security framework, focusing mainly on pension provision to formally employed people. It also describes some of the non-contributory social security programmes available to unemployed people. The outcomes of the study include descriptions of the National Pension Scheme Authority (NAPSA), the public pension schemes landscape covering the Public Service Pension Fund (PSPF), the Local Authorities Superannuation Fund (LASF), and the private occupational scheme arrangements, in terms nature and type of funds, membership, benefits, contributions, investments and regulation.
