The Centre for Affordable Housing Finance in Africa (CAHF) launched its Housing Investment Chronicles (HIC) project in November 2016 with the aim of stimulating the development of housing finance instruments that are more responsive to household needs, resources and spending habits. The Uganda Housing Investments Chronicles study was carried out in March and April 2018 with a 680-household survey conducted across the breadth of the GKMA (Great Kampala Metropolitan Area). The research focused on four key thematic areas: the Housing Investment Decision; Securing Land processes; the Housing Construction Process; and the financing of the Housing Investment.
