Senegal: ONECCA creates a single counter to help businesses getting credit

Feb 08, 2011

Mamour Fall, president of the National Order of Chartered Accountants (ONECCA) in Senegal, has emphasised the importance for businesses to provide a reliable financial information if they want to obtain credit.

"The reliability of financial information provided by companies is key to an easy access to credit, especially for small and medium businesses", he said during an ONECCA conference on February 3rd, APS news agency reports.

ONECCA therefore wants to work more closely with companies to ensure this transparency.

The body recommended the introduction of a single counter aiming at restoring confidence between lenders and SMEs, meaning all businesses will now be required to submit their financial information at the same place.

Mr Fall has announced that works on ONECCA's new headquarters have started. The site will include training facilities, a documentation centre and offices.
