Bank of Kigali (BK) has announced last week that it will add the "Money Gram" service to its range of international money transfer services.

It will enable the bank clients to send and receive money worldwide through any of its 60 branches.

"As Bank of Kigali, we are cognizant of the important role of the Rwandan Diaspora continues to play in the country's economic development, particularly through sectors such as education, health, private sector, development, trade and investment," said BK CEO James Gateta, quoted by East African Business Week.

"This service will allow our customers to transfer and receive money at affordable rates while also benefiting from the reliability and convenience that Money Gram brings," he added.

This announcement comes a few weeks after BK launched another money transfer service called Xpress Money.
Lado Gurgenidze, chairman of BK's board of directors. told the New Times that the Bank wants to take advantage of a steady increase in the number of remittances to Rwanda, which reflects people's confidence in the country's economy.ADNFCR-2976-ID-801551832-ADNFCR
