New street banking service introduced in Lagos

Apr 20, 2011

More than 1,000 people living in the Nigerian state of Lagos are now able to access a new street banking service from 3Line Card Management.

The move has been made in a bid to give individuals living in certain areas of the country better access to finance, This Day Live reports.

It has been named the Freedom Network and also hopes to bridge the gap between users.

Appointed neighbourhood service providers and merchants now offer instant, light banking opportunities such as money transfers, cash withdrawals, utility bill payments and pay-as-you-go vehicle insurance.

General Manager of 3Line Funke Ade-Ojo said: "The residents of these neighbours have taken advantage of the proximity and availability of the merchants and would benefit from the array of services on the network."

The company considers itself to be a pioneer in its sector, designing and operating end-to-end electronic payment infrastructures allowing people to deposit and withdraw money safely and securely.
