More POS machines to be installed in Lagos

Mar 12, 2012

Ecobank has announced it will soon introduce an additional 10,000 Point of Sale (POS) machines in Lagos, Nigeria, the Daily Trust reports.

This initiative complements the financial institution's introduction of 2,000 other machines of this kind in the Nigerian city at the start of 2012 and supports the Central Bank of Nigeria's Project Lags initiative.

According to Ecobak's Head of eProducts and Cards Mike Ogbalu, the institution has numerous services and products that can help with the transition to a cashless society for its Nigerian customers.

Among these are online banking and mobile banking solutions, as well as payment cards including the Ecobank Regional Card. This gives holders to have access to different banking services while travelling in one of the 28 African countries participating in the scheme, including Nigeria, the Ivory Coast, Senegal, Gabon and Guinea.
