Management and intermediation company CGF Bourse organised from May 13th
to 17th open days in Dakar to present its financial investments offering.

CGF hopes to contribute to popularize equity culture in Senegal. "As a player in this trade exchange (BVRM), we felt obliged to inform the general public about the opportunities to earn money from savings," CGF's Director of Marketing and Communications Oumar Deme told Jeune Afrique newspaper.

Investing savings in the stock market has not yet entered the Senegalese culture and CGF wants to change attitudes so that individuals can harness some of the benefits of financial markets.

These have become increasingly important in the provision of capital to the private sector in sub-Saharan Africa. They have a crucial role in local savings by offering alternative investment opportunities.

But according to the magazine Proparco, the size of these markets remains low because liquidity is often nonexistent, and foreign investors only have
little present on these exchanges. Companies are reluctant to go public, and often struggle to get finance through bonds.
