The National Reserve Bank is looking to create a new mobile telecommunications transaction service in Angola.

The National Reserve Bank (BNA) is looking to create a new mobile telecommunications transaction service in Angola.

This is according to Governor of the institution Jose Massano Junior, who claimed on Saturday (July 9th) that new regulation could be adopted to facilitate this, Angola Press reports.

As well as improving banking services, this development will also make them more accessible for individuals living in remote areas, he stated.

The official made this announcement at the launch of an education campaign in the Cazenga district of Luanda, which took place on the BNA's 35th anniversary.

Mr Massano also revealed that the enterprise is set to introduce more banking correspondents who will work with people living in areas where the organisation currently does not have any branches.

This may be good news for the country's Malanje province, as Governor of the region Boaventura Cardoso recently called for more bank outlets to be opened in the area, Angola Press reported.
