Virtual Forum: THE EIB WEST AND CENTRAL AFRICA SME BANKING AND MICROFINANCE ACADEMY 2021
THE EIB WEST AND CENTRAL AFRICA SME BANKING AND MICROFINANCE ACADEMY 2021
Theme: Building a resilient MSME financial sector for inclusive growth in West and Central Africa
VIRTUAL FORUM: 5th - 6th OCTOBER 2021
As part of the EIB Financial Sector Technical Assistance Programme for West and Central Africa, EIB in partnership with MFW4A organized the EIB Academy – a two-day forum which took place on 5–6 October 2021.
The EIB Academy is a well-established and recognized exchange forum and learning format, which, in recent years, has been held physically in an African capital. But due to the pandemic, the 2021 edition was a virtual event, with the advantage of being accessible to a much wider audience.
Over 600 participants (including an impressive list of top-notch experts), from 60 countries took part in plenary sessions, interactive debates, and voluntary breakout sessions on the second day. The themes of the forum were highly pertinent to the current situation in the region, and included how financial institutions (FIs) in the region can encourage entrepreneurship, integrate climate challenges into their operations, promote gender financing, pursue opportunities in the digitalization of services and build ESG frameworks into financial reporting,
Feedback on the event was hugely positive, and we look forward to this partnership hosting more like these.
If you missed it, could not attend all the sessions or would like to revisit any sessions, you can easily access all recordings and materials via the programme website.
