MFW4A General Assembly (AGA) and Supervisory Committee (SC) Meetings 2019
On December 5th, 2019, the Making Finance Work for Africa Partnership (MFW4A) will host, its Annual General Assembly (AGA), in Abidjan.
The AGA gathers MFW4A Members (Funding and Non-Funding), other select development partners and African financial sector stakeholder, to come together to engage in an open and interactive dialogue on the Partnership’s progress and achievements, and to provide ideas, perspectives and other contributions to the Partnership’s activities.
This year's edition will welcome special guests such as Afreximbank, our newest MFW4A funding member and the European Union who will soon formerly join the Partnership as a funding member. DFIs planning joint work with us such the Swiss Cooperation Agency will also be in attendance
The objectives of the GA are to:
- Showcase the Partnership’s key achievements for 2019;
- Launch new activities, and promote a multi-stakeholder engagement and collaborative approaches for MFW4A initiatives;
- Further strengthen cooperation and operational relationship with MFW4A Partners and attract new membership; and
- Enhance the role played by AFS (African Financial Sector) stakeholders in the Partnership in the process of cooperation, through the identification of possible ways of cooperation amongst the AFS, and with development partners.
The event will provide an opportunity for donors and partners in thematic networks to address key issues relating to the Partnership's medium- and long-term prospects such as, how MFW4A can better support Financial Sector Development (FSD) efforts at the national and regional levels in Africa. The Assembly is expected to bring together some 30-40 participants, including MFW4A Governing, Associate and Non-Funding Members, select private sector entities and potential MFW4A members.
