The State of the Industry Report on Mobile Money (SOTIR) 2025 marks 13 consecutive years of the GSMA reporting on the progress of mobile money. For several years, we have analyzed growth along a pattern of themes: accounts, agents, services, use cases, and revenue. Variations of this order over time have allowed the team behind SOTIR to adopt a “matured” approach to showcasing progress. With an established spine, there is more room to explore and uncover different mobile money growth stories from various markets.
