Scaling-up Agricultural Insurance: The Role of Financial Institutions and Agribusinesses as Distribution Channels

This document is based on a webinar session presentation, organized by Making Finance Work for Africa (MFW4A) and the German Cooperation Agency (GIZ) and hosted on April 08th, 2020. This webinar focused on: (a) the different pros and cons of linking agricultural insurance to financial products or input packages; (b) the various reasons why financial institutions or agribusinesses could be interested in adding insurance to their core offerings; (c) lessons learned and successes factors from different countries in Sub-Saharan Africa.
