Savings Products and Services in the Informal Sector and Microfinance Institutions in West Africa: The Case of Mali and Benin

Sep 30, 2001 | J-P.M. Kalala, A. Ouedraogo | MicroSave

This study attempts to go beyond understanding the different financial systems and how accessible their services are to the poor in both countries. It focuses on discovering how the clients and non-clients of the microfinance institutions (MFIs) and the informal systems utilise and perceive the savings products and services currently offered. It continues by exploring the unsatisfied needs and new possible products that clients would like.
