The aim of this report is to help fill the gap in knowledge about how different financial services used by women in Burkina Faso, particularly those services designed to anticipate and respond to common household shocks, contribute to household resiliency. The research is guided by the following two research questions: 1. What strategies do poor households employ to manage economic, environmental, and health shocks that disrupt their financial lives? 2. What roles do formal, non-formal, and informal financial products play in improving household resiliency and building assets?
