Mobile insurance is growing rapidly with over 100 identified schemes. However, business models and regu- latory responses are still at an early stage. Stakeholders are continuously learning how to manage risk from a regulatory, business and client perspective. The German Development Cooperation promotes digital financial inclusion in a responsible way to prevent negative effects on consumer trust in nascent insurance markets. With this objective, the BMZ supports bilateral and regional projects in the field of digital finance and is part of the Responsible Finance Forum as well as the G20 Global Platform for Financial Inclusion (GPFI).
