Responsible Digital Credit: What does responsible digital credit look like?

Jul 31, 2018 | J. Owens | CFI, The Smart Campaign

Throughout the world, small loans to individuals and very small businesses are increasingly made through digital credit. Digital credit is defined as loans accessed through a digital channel, either online, through a mobile device or through a third-party agent. In this study, the author analyses a range of digital credit provider categories and models, the consumer risks they involve, and some of the standards being developed to address these risks. Recommendations are made for the Smart Campaign and other organizations concerned with financial consumer protection to consider.
