Jan 31, 2011 | S. Krishnan, J. Paschoa, J. Weeks et al. | UNDP
This study examines the factors that affect remittance flows, now and in the future, including the influence, if any, of factors such as rates of return on various assets, or return differentials, in particular interest rate differentials on comparable deposit accounts offered in the host and home country, possible incentive interest rates offered on home country deposits, the black market exchange premium (if any), the return on real estate in the home country, inflation rates, and other factors including political risk and uncertainty that may affect the decision to remit.
