Payment System Oversight - Policy Framework

This policy and framework document lays out the objectives and scope of the oversight function and the manner in which CBL intends to conduct its oversight. It is intended to be a guide that would bring transparency to the role of CBL as the overseer of payment systems. It is also aimed at ensuring the financial and technical integrity of Lesotho’s payment systems, their robustness against shocks, and that the overall efficiency are upheld through adherence to the Bank for international Settlement (BIS) Core Principles for Systemically Important Payments Systems (SIPS) that are aimed at guiding the design and operation of payment systems.
