New players and new banking models for Africa

This issue seeks to understand to what extent is the banking sector’s development contributing to the development of the African continent as a whole and if new player’s quest for market share entails a systemic risk for the continents still-fragile economies. It further aims to understand if the emergence of these players on the African scene will boost efficiency in the banking sector.
