Loan Pricing of Nigerian Microfinance Banks: Survey & Methods of Assessment

The GIZ SEDIN Programme in Nigeria has conducted a terchnical assessment that analyses the loan pricing of a sample of Nigerian Microfinance Banks. The findings of the paper highlight the driving factors of high interest rates in the Nigerian microfinance sector and provide meaningful insight into how the cost of borrowing can be reduced. The study analyzes among other things whether the rates charged are rational and sustainable for Microfinance Banks and by doing so, contribute to the global conversation about responsible pricing in microfinance.
