This fifth edition of the Financial Stability Report, 2013 (FSR, 2013) is a joint report of the five financial sector regulators in Kenya, namely: the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK); the Capital Markets Authority (CMA); the Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA); the Retirement Benefits Authority (RBA); and the Saccos Societies Regulatory Authority (SASRA). It presents trend analysis and in-depth assessment of the global and domestic macro-financial developments affecting and emanating from the macroeconomy and the financial systems. It analyses the performance and interactions involving the real economy, financial markets, financial institutions, financial infrastructure, and review of the legal and policy frameworks in 2013. The report also discusses the developments in the first half of 2014 to inform the outlook and potential areas of surveillance for 2014/2015.
