Jun 30, 2016 | S. Zottel, B. Zia, F. Khoury | The World Bank

As the Senegal government’s financial inclusion initiatives are expected to usher in more Senegalese, including small and medium size business (SME), to access a wide range of financial services from a variety of financial institutions, they need to acquire knowledge and develop skills to enable them to make better financial decisions. This survey constitutes a key diagnostic tool that aims to guide the authorities on the models for delivering financial education and to set quantifiable and concrete targets. Moreover, it serves as a baseline to assess a detailed national financial inclusion strategy (NFIS) and an action plan for implementing reforms to make the financial sector more inclusive and access to credit for SMEs easier.
