Jan 01, 2010 | USAID | USAID
USAID's Development Credit Authority (DCA) was created in 1999 to mobilize local private capital through the establishment of real risk sharing relationships with private financial institutions in USAID countries. The non-profit organization Root Capital provides credit to village-based producer businesses to enhance community economic development in Latin America. In 2005 USAID decided to support Root Capital with a Guarantee to help the organization expand its model into East Africa. This evaluation assesses the outputs, outcomes, and impacts of the guarantee.
