Bridging the Gap: the Financial Case for Financial Capability

This paper surveys the evidence on the scope of financial capability issue, different financial education models that are being tried, and the economics of various leading and emerging approaches. It focuses on financial education programs being delivered by MFIs and other financial institutions that are targeted at low-income segments in emerging markets. The paper analyzes the delivery model, cost structure and cost recovery model of these programs.
