2009 Financial Crisis Snapshot: Middle East & North Africa
May 01, 2009 | CGAP | CGAP
This CGAP snapshot shows that, to date, the Middle East and North Africa have been less exposed to the effects of the global crisis. Many economies are growing, unemployment is stable in most countries, and local banks are still sound. As a result, microfinance institutions (MFIs) are less affected than in other regions, and managers report fewer signs of stress.
