WorldRemit starts cash pickup service in Ethiopia and Uganda

The Chief Executive Officer of WorldRemit, Ismail Ahmed said "we want to give people the power to share money anytime, anywhere. Now WorldRemit customers can send money with just a few taps on their smartphone" he added. Some of the pickup locations in Uganda are all branches of Pride Microfinance, Diamond Trust Bank and Ugafode Microfinance. In Ethiopian, pick up locations include all branches of Abay Bank, Addis International Bank, Awash International Bank, Bank of Abyssinia, Buna International Bank, Cooperative Bank of Oromia, Commercial Bank of Ethiopia, Dashen Bank, Debub Global Bank, Lion Internatinal Bank, NIB International Bank, Oromia International Bank, United Bank and Wegagen Bank in Ethiopia. Reaching out to more than 125 nations, WorldRemit maintains strong presence across Africa with personal money transfers to Sub-Saharan Africa reaching more than $34.8 billion in 2015 according to World Bank record.
