MasterCard and Tunisian Post sign MoU on digital financial services
The collaboration signals the launch of new electronic payment systemMasterCard and Tunisian Post have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to develop and unveil new digital financial services in Tunisia to facilitate the spread of electronic payments. The provision of the MoU will allow both parties to work together in developing a MasterCard prepaid programme for all government disbursements through the Tunisian Post. Speaking about the development, the Division President, Middle East and North Africa, MasterCard, Khalid Elgibali said, "We will work together to develop a Mastercard prepaid programme for all government disbursements through the Tunisian Post to add one million new beneficiaries." The government disbursements covered include health reimbursement, student scholarship, retirement pension and micro-loans. The MoU was signed by Khalid Elgibali and Moez Chakchouk, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Tunisian Post at a ceremony held at the Social Headquarters of the Tunisian Post.
