The service is expected to save Ethiopian banks time and resources.

Ethiopian banks are now able to use a system that enables them to quickly resolve errors related to Automated Teller Machine (ATM) transactions.

Launched by Pan-African information technology solutions provider Fintech, the service is expected to save Ethiopian banks time and resources in resolving ATM errors, and boost customer satisfaction, according to head of sales Polycup Osero.

"Currently a bank in Ethiopia uses 30-50 people to reconcile ATM-related error reports. But with the Fintech solution, no more than 10 people will be needed to trace and resolve these errors," he said, quoted by the East African.

Fintech has already been supplying a cheque truncation system to African banks that enables them to capture the image of the cheque and send it to the central bank for verification in a bid to avoid fraud. Ethiopia started implementing the system in recent years.ADNFCR-2976-ID-801824481-ADNFCR
