The Association of African Development Finance Institutions (AADFI) is an umbrella organization of African Development Finance Institutions (DFIs). The AADFI is an international organization created under the auspices of the African Development Bank (AfDB) in 1975. The membership of AADFI is made up of about 80 banking and financial institutions (58 ordinary, 13 special and 6 honorary members) engaged in development finance activities in Africa. The Association became autonomous from the AfDB in 1994 and has its Headquarters in Abidjan, Republic of Côte d’Ivoire. It has the status of Observer at the World Bank.
