Webinar Replay: Introducing the Africa Long-Term Finance Website
8 July 2021 -- Making Finance Work for Africa in collaboration with partners hosted a webinar on the launch of the new Africa Long-Term Finance Initiative website. The initiative is a joint effort of the African Development Bank, Making Finance Work for Africa, FSD Africa and the German Development Cooperation (BMZ/GIZ) that aims to boost the intermediation of long-term finance in Africa and close the financing gap for SMEs, housing and infrastructure on the continent.
The website will not only serve as a platform for information exchange relating to long-term finance in Africa, but also assemble information about good practices and success stories in the long-term finance space. The aim is to improve market intelligence on long-term finance in Africa and establish an interactive platform to enable cross-fertilization of country experiences in this area.
The webinar introduced participants to the website, and offered insights on how it could be used as an information repository on Africa’s long-term finance markets. Participants also heard from leading financial sector experts and thought leaders as they discussed the bottlenecks and opportunities to increasing the provision of long-term finance in Africa.
