International Conference on the Linkages between Financial Inclusion and Financial Stability

To what extent does greater financial inclusion enhance or undermine financial stability, and vice versa?

The main objective of the conference is to share practical knowledge and formulate action plans to advance the understanding on the policy/regulatory issues related to financial inclusion - financial stability linkage. The conference will convene Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI) members, global Standard-Setting Bodies (SSBs), academic communities, and other stakeholders. Session topics will include, amongst others:
  • Implication of digital financial services;
  • Innovative lending practice;
  • Potential impact of consumer empowerment measures on financial stability; and
  • Proportionate applications of global standards that balance financial inclusion benefit and financial stability risks.
Invitation letters will be sent to the head of each AFI member institution, with a request for nominees to attend the conference. Selected stakeholders will also be invited. For more information, please visit the event website.
