The Road to 2030: Making the African Capital Markets Relevant to the real economy
This conference, hosted by the Rwanda Stock Exchange, aims to bring together more than 300 global and regional experts and stakeholders in the capital market to ask questions and address the big question of how African securities exchanges should become more effective and play a bigger role in mobilizing capital for African businesses that will drive our economies on the global economic stage. Sessions will include, amongst others:- Unlocking and protecting real value for our domestic markets in the wake of International markets volatility: Can domestic and regional Institutional Investors fill in the gap in the wave of international capital flight?;
- Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) impact on emerging countries and the role of Stock Exchanges going forward
- Confronting the Boogey man of African capital markets: Small size, Illiquidity and volatility - Can market making, primary dealership and Technology be a weapon?; and
- The role of Commodities and derivatives markets on African economic growth.
