2022 Maiden CABS FinTech Forum “Opportunities and Challenges of FinTech Development in Africa”

The community of African Banking Supervisors (CABS) is organizing a FinTech summit with the theme “Opportunities and Challenges of FinTech Development in Africa” to be held from June 14 to 15, 2022.

It will be a virtual forum, where discussions as well as presentations relating to the theme will be delivered by Professionals from around the globe.

Context

CABS comprises the supervisors of central banks in Africa, which have come together under the aegis of the Association of African Central Banks (AACB). 

One of the objectives of the CABS is to contribute to the strengthening and harmonization of the banking regulatory and supervisory practices in Africa. It is also a platform for maintaining and enhancing information sharing amongst African banks' supervisors. 

Objectives

The objective of the FinTech Forum is to provide a platform for stakeholders to discuss development and regulation of FinTechs, as well as strategies to manage the attendant risks. 

It is also expected to expose the opportunities in the FinTech ecosystem in Africa to potential investors. 

The summit is aimed at bringing together the operators and regulators of FInTechs within the member jurisdictions of AACB. In addition, proposed investors, financial correspondents and multilateral agencies are also expected at the event.
