Morocco: Bank loans to real estate sector stood at $22.3bn at the end of August

Overall loans granted by Moroccan commercial banks to the real estate industry stood at 211.7 billion dirhams at the end August 2017, thus a bit more than $22.37 billion. Year to year, this is up 4% compared to 2016.

In Algeria, three public lending institutions, namely the Banque de l’agriculture et du développement Rural (BADR), the Caisse Nationale d’Epargne et de Prévoyance (CNEP) and the Banque de Développement Local (BDL) will start offering Islamic finance services before the end of the year.

Tanzania Women Bank Disburses Sh120bn Loans to 86,000 Women

Tanzania Women Bank has since 2007 issued a total of Sh120 billion worth credit to 86,000 women, according to its director general Mr Japhet Justine.

Burkina Faso: Africa50 interested in financing Ouaga-East thermal power plant

Pan-African infrastructure-focused investment fund, Africa50, plans to finance the Ouaga-East thermal power plant, in Burkina Faso. With a capacity of 100MW, the plant will be built near the Ouaga II University.
