As we begin 2018, I would like to wish you all a happy and prosperous New Year on behalf of all of us at MFW4A. 


2017 was a pivotal year for us. We began our transition to a more inclusive Partnership with the integration of African financial sector stakeholders in all levels of our platform.  This new phase also includes a revamped value proposition designed to deliver sharper outcomes. Our work in 2017 strengthened MFW4A’s position as a leading and independent voice on financial sector development in Africa. Read more.

The African Union for Housing Finance (AUHF), the Centre for Affordable Housing Finance in Africa (CAHF) and the International Finance Corporation (IFC), with the support of Making Finance Work for Africa (MFW4A) and the African Development Bank (AfDB), are pleased to present a two and a half-day workshop on ‘Mortgage Product Design and Portfolio Management‘, on February 6-8, 2018. The training will take place at the AfDB’s CCIA Building, Room 1G. Site visits to affordable housing projects in Abidjan will be organized on the third half-day.

4th Statutory Meeting of the MFW4A SME Supporting Agencies Network, SA-PME/UEMOA

  • The meeting showcased the results of a project in Mali called: “Hub-IT” implemented by the Centre du Secteur Privé (CSP) in partnership with the French NGO – Tech-Dev and MFW4A and funded by the AFD. MFW4A was invited to support funding mobilization efforts to expand the project and replicate it in other WAEMU countries. Read more.
