Exploring the Implications of Basel III Liquidity Standards for Africa

(...) According to a 2015 Finafrique report, the West Africa Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU) and members of the Central African Economic and Monetary Community (CEMAC) are still migrating to Basel II, while Nigeria is already in compliance with Basel II standards.

MFW4A Workshop on "Closing the Trade Finance Gap for African SMEs" - The Event Report is Now Available!

Making Finance Work for Africa organized a Trade Finance Workshop in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, from 19-20 June, 2018.

 

The event brought together banks, financial institutions, and development partners to identify and investigate the barriers to bank-intermediated trade finance in Africa, with a focus on the specific challenges and solutions for small- and medium-sized enterprises. About 40 participants and specialists from Cote d’Ivoire, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Liberia, and Senegal ran the debates during these workshop sessions. Read more.
