The European Invesment Bank (EIB) held it's second Africa Day in Abidjan on 21st November. EIB partnered with the African Development (AfDB), which hosted the event at its headquarters. Africa Day provides an active platform for exchanging views, learning, listening and debating on issues pertinent to Africa's economic development. MFW4A participated in a panel discussion on 'Banking in sub-Saharan Africa: Digital Financial Inclusion, Housing Finance and Long-Term Investment'. The discussion was part of pre-launch activities for EIB's Annual Survey of Banking Sub-Saharan Africa, which this year focuses on Digital Finance. Boost Africa Initiative, a unique partnership in support of innovation and entrepreneurship across Africa has been launched on Monday, November 21 in Abidjan by EIB and AfDB in partnership with the European Commission. The Launch ceremony took place at the Headquarters of the AfDB in Abidjan, in the presence of EIB President Werner Hoyer, AfDB President Akinwumi Adesina, EIB Vice-President Ambroise Favolle and Stefano Manservisi, Director-General for International Cooperation and Development at the European Commission.
